Description

Manor House is a late 16th century L-plan house that features 18th century infill in the rear angle and a large extension added to the east end around 1914, along with further additions to the rear. The building is constructed of red brick, with the 16th century sections displaying a diaper pattern in blue headers. The northern gable wall is made of rubble stone. It has a tiled roof with coped gables and moulded kneelers. The west wing contains two stacks with square shafts set diagonally, with four on the northern gable and three on the western side. The house is two storeys high with an attic.

The southern front has four 16th century bays on the left, the first of which is gabled, and two gabled bays dated 1914 on the right, as indicated by the rainwater heads. The 16th century bays feature leaded stone mullioned windows with hood-moulds; the gabled bay has four-light windows with a three-light window in the attic, while the remaining bays have three-light windows and a two-light window on the ground floor to the left. The 1914 bays have similar windows and a canted bay with stone quoins on the right.

The western front has two storeys and two eaves-breaking dormers with coped gables, featuring similar three-light windows. One bay has a three-light window on the ground floor and a four-light window on the first floor, while a two-light window is positioned to the upper right of the ground floor, with the remainder obscured by a 20th century wing that is of no special interest. Inside, the first-floor room boasts early 17th century wooden panelling and a carved chimney-piece with an armorial panel and flanking columns.
