Description

The Old Farmhouse is a mid-18th century house located on the west side of Main Street in Preston Bissett. The house is composed of two distinct sections: three bays of chequer brick construction on a stone base to the right, and one bay of coursed rubble stone to the left with brick in the upper gable wall. It has an old tile roof with moulded brick eaves and brick stacks flanking the brick section. The brick section features leaded casement windows, with three-light windows to the outer bays and a two-light window in the centre, above a six-panelled door. The openings have cambered brick heads, some of which have been altered. The stone bay has double-barred sash windows with timber lintels, and a Sun fire insurance plaque is located in the centre of the upper lintel.
