Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It is constructed of rubble stone with a tiled roof, incorporating slate to the rear of the main wing. The house comprises a main east-facing wing linked at a right angle to a smaller northwest wing. The east front has three bays, featuring three-light leaded stone mullion windows with arched lights and hood-moulds. A panelled door, half-glazed with a rectangular barred fanlight above, sits centrally. The north wing has similar three-light windows to the east gable, in the attic and on the first floor of the street front. It has a two-light window to the ground floor left and a barred 18th-century sash window to the right. A 18th-century brick lean-to extends from the rear angle, with a partly chequered design, and has been extended in the 20th century. A door within the angle is six-panelled and half-glazed, featuring patterned glazing bars in a rectangular fanlight and a stone lintel with a keyblock. A similar lintel appears above a sash window on the rear of the north wing. A stone stack with a brick top is present on the west gable of the north wing, while the east wing has a thin brick stack on the north gable. Internally, there are chamfered beams, including chamfered and stopped spine beams with run-out stops, and cross beams and joists to the south ground floor room. A moulded doorcase can be found on the first floor.
