11 Minto Street, Edinburgh

11 Minto Street is a pair of classical houses built in the early 19th century. The buildings are two stories high and have six bays arranged symmetrically. They are constructed from lightly stugged, cream sandstone ashlar, with rubble sandstone on the sides and rear. Features include a base course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course.

On the west elevation, there are round-arched doorways in the outer bays, each with panelled doors. The doorway for No 11 has a plate glass fanlight, while No 12 has a small-paned fanlight above its door. There are single windows above these doorways and single windows on both floors in the remaining bays.

The south elevation features a leaded glass stair window located between the two floors. The windows throughout the houses are timber sash and case with plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design. There is a coped wallhead stack without cans on the north side, a rendered, coped mutual stack with moulded cans, and a truncated, coped wallhead stack with moulded cans on the south side.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property includes low coped boundary walls along the street with replacement railings, as well as higher rubble, coped mutual boundary walls. There are panelled mutual piers at the outer angles of the boundary wall. A pedestrian gate is located next to the house to the north, and there is a carriage gate with a modern garage behind it to the south.
