10 Minto Street And Gateway, Edinburgh

10 Minto Street is an early 19th-century classical house with later 19th-century additions, located in Edinburgh. The building is two stories high and has three bays, with single-storey wings to the north. It is constructed of lightly stugged, cream sandstone ashlar and features a base course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with advanced cills for the ground floor windows.

The west (entrance) elevation has a central doorway with a panelled door and a plate glass, segmental-arched fanlight. It is flanked by ionic pilasters that support a corniced doorpiece. Above the doorway, there is a single window, and in the single-storey wing to the north, there is another window. To the outer right, there is a full-height, three-light canted window, while the outer left features advanced, tripartite windows on both floors.

The windows are made of plate glass and are timber, sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with coped wallhead stacks and moulded octagonal cans.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property is also surrounded by low coped boundary walls along the street and higher rubble mutual walls, with replacement railings. There is a pedestrian gate next to the house on the south side.
