Description

Earlier 19th century. 2 storey, 6 bay symmetrical pair of classical houses. Cream sandstone ashlar; coursed rubble to sides and rear. Base course; panelled aprons to architraved ground floor windows; dividing band course; cill course to architraved 1st floor windows; cornice and blocking course raised at centre.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorways to outer bays; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; Doric columns to corniced doorpieces; single windows to 1st floor above. Single windows to both floors in remaining bays.

N AND S ELEVATIONS: single central stair windows between floors.

Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roofs; corniced wallhead and mutual stacks; tall single octagonal stacks to E.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND PEDESTRIAN GATE: low coped and coursed boundary wall to street; replacement railings; original railings to mutual wall; high concrete boundary wall with Middleby Street to S. Pedestrian gate adjoining to N; garage adjoining to S.
