15 Minto Street, Edinburgh

15 Minto Street is an early 19th-century classical house with later 19th-century additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure that is nearly symmetrical, featuring two-storey wings on the north and south sides. The building is constructed of cream sandstone ashlar, with coursed rubble on the sides and rear. Architectural details include a base course, string course, cill course, and cornice for the ground floor windows in canted bays, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a dentilled cornice, and a blocking course.

The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has engaged Doric columns flanking a recessed, segmental arched doorway that contains a modern panelled door and a plate glass fanlight topped with a pedimented hoodmould. Above the doorway is a single window on the first floor. The outer left and right sides feature full-height, three-light canted windows in the bays. The south side has a single and a two-storey wing, while the north side has a two-storey wing as well, both with panelled modern doors and single windows above.

The windows are made of plate glass and timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, while the wings have flat roofs. There are rendered and coped wallhead stacks with moulded cans.

The interior was not seen in 1996. The boundary walls consist of a low coursed and coped wall along the street with replacement railings, a low mutual wall to the north, and a high rubble wall to the south.
