19-25 Lover's Walk, Dumfries

This mid-19th century double villa at 19-25 Lover's Walk in Dumfries features two storeys and three bays, showcasing a Free Renaissance architectural style. The building is constructed from red ashlar and includes some sculptured details. It has mullioned windows and canted full-height outer bays topped with parapets and broken pediments. The advanced central bay contains a pair of doorways, one of which is an original panelled door with fanlights, and round-headed lights in the canted angles. Above, there is a bipartite window on the first floor with a shaped and sculptured head. The design includes band and string courses that separate the floors, an eaves course, a cornice, a parapet, saw-toothed skews, and end stacks, all beneath a slate roof. The full-height plain rear wing comprises Nos 23 and 25. The villa is set behind ashlar-coped rubble-built walls with square gatepiers.
