Description
15-17 High Street in Lockerbie is a late 19th to early 20th century, two-storey building that serves both commercial and domestic purposes. It is constructed from coursed bull-faced red ashlar with polished dressings and raised quoins. The left side features a two-bay shop, while other ground floor openings are supported by consoles that hold up a pediment above an off-centre doorway leading to the upper flat. The remainder of the ground floor is filled with a three-bay shop. All four first-floor windows are sash windows, with the outer ones being tripartite. These windows are framed with architraves and have bracketed cills. The building has an eaves course, corniced end and axial stacks, and is topped with a slate roof. A pair of cast-iron rainwater pipes flank the flat doorway, which has a recessed panelled door and a plain fanlight above it.
