Description
Dryfesdale Parish Church Hall, originally said to be the Mechanics' Institute built in 1866, is now used as a church hall. The building features a prominent tower constructed of coursed red ashlar with long and short worked dressings. The hall has a gable facing the street, with three round-headed lights on the ground floor and two tall windows at the upper level. To the right, there are two bays that are integrated with the adjoining house, with the first bay containing a hood-moulded round-headed doorway. The tower rises above the hall, with its top stage corbelled out and featuring a blind oculus on each elevation. The eaves are bracketed, and the tower is topped with a leaded spire that includes ventilators and a finial. The main roof is slated, and the interior of the hall is simple, showcasing an open-timbered roof.
