Description

Probably built late 18th century as 3-storey 3-bay inn, with

line of Victoria Road, and includes public house door and

long rear range not all one build; front re-modelled late

19th/early 20th century with applied black-painted timber

framing contrasting with white harling; red ashlar

dressings to remodelled big central doorway and ground floor

window margins; unmargined windows above ground, balcony

near full length at 1st floor and to each window at 2nd;

bracketted eaves; straight skews with skew end moulding run

horizontally below panelled and corniced end stacks; slate

roof.

Rear range has asymmetrical elevation following irregular

1797 datestone.
