72 Main Street, Glenluce

This building at 72 Main Street in Glenluce is an earlier 19th-century cottage that is single storey with an attic and has three bays. It is constructed of painted rubble and features protruding cills.

On the north elevation facing Main Street, there is a fanlit door at the center, with windows located in the outer bays. Above these outer bays, there are gabled dormer windows. To the left of the central door is a blocked doorway that was formerly a shop entrance. The east and west elevations are gabled and blank. There is a painted brick gabled addition on the south elevation.

The windows have 4-pane glazing in sash and case style, except for the window to the left, which has fixed plate glass glazing from when it was a shop window. The building has no skews and features gablehead stacks, with the eastern stack made of painted rubble and the western stack rendered and lined. The roof is covered with purple slates.
