Description
The Galloway Arms Hotel, located on Castle Douglas Road in Crocketford, is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house. The exterior is harled and features raised quoins and margins. The entrance is highlighted by a Roman Doric pilastered doorpiece with a blocking course. All windows are single-light with modern glazing. The building has an eaves cornice, flat skews, a slate roof, and corniced axial end stacks. There are extensive later 19th century and modern additions at the rear. To the west, there is a single-storey harled cottage that is three bays wide with a central door that has been converted into a window.
