Description
Meikle Kirkland is a cottage that likely dates from the late 18th century, with a rear jamb added in the early 20th century. It is a single-storey and attic structure that forms a T-plan, featuring harled walls at the front and painted rubble at the rear, with a boulder base course. The cottage has a four-bay frontage with an off-centre stack. The entrance door is located to the left, accompanied by single light windows. All openings have flat margins that are recessed from the harling. The windows are sash and case style with 4-pane glazing. The roof is covered with slate and features coped axial stacks, some of which have octagonal cans, along with sandstone skews. At the rear, a window on the right has been widened to a bipartite design with modern glazing.
