47 Albert Street, Newton Stewart

47 Albert Street in Newton Stewart is an earlier 19th-century building situated on a steeply sloping site. It consists of a pair of two-storey and attic flats, with additional flats located at ground level below street level and on the first floor, which is accessed just above street level. The structure is made of pinned squared granite, featuring raised polished granite margins.

Each flat has a two-bay elevation, with steps leading up to paired central doors on the first floor and steps down to the ground floor in the outer bay to the left. All windows are single light, sash and case style, with 2-pane plate glass glazing. The buildings have pairs of canted piended dormers, adorned with bracketed eaves, and the end skews and skewputts are complemented by coped end stacks, with the right stack featuring tall fluted cans. The roofs are covered with good graded slate.

The rear elevations are two-storey, showcasing projecting full-height bays and box dormers. There is a first-floor window and door leading to the basement on the return gable to the left.
