Description

The Garden Bridge at Heatheryhaugh, dated 1828, is a segmental-arched bridge that spans Birnock Water, providing access to a walled garden. It is constructed from squared whin rubble arranged in graded courses. On the western bank, there is a narrow pedestrian tunnel arch. The bridge features red ashlar coping that is level with the flat roadway, and the parapets are adorned with plain, slender cast-iron railings, which are asymmetrically widened at the western approach.
