Description
The gates and gatepiers at Stair Park on London Road in Stranraer were built in 1905. They consist of a pair of octagonal and square-plan red sandstone piers that mark the entrance to the park. Each octagonal pier features a chamfered base course, a string course, and a corniced octagonal cap with the year "1905" inscribed on it. The left pier has a decorative ribbon inscribed with the word "Stair," while the right pier has a ribbon inscribed with the word "Park." Both sets of gatepiers are adorned with decorative iron gates.
