Merslaugh, 47 London Road, Stranraer

Wenova, located at 45 London Road in Stranraer, is a mid-19th century, terraced pair of classical houses arranged in an L-plan. The houses are two stories tall and have five bays, featuring a painted render finish with painted margins around the openings and a pilastered doorpiece.

On the north elevation, the entrance doorway is positioned to the outer left and is flanked by single windows. There is another entrance doorway located in the penultimate bay to the right, with a single window to the outer right. The first floor has a regular arrangement of windows.

The windows are 2-pane timber sash and case glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate, with a stone skew to the east and broad coped rendered gablehead stacks that have circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1997.

The property is complemented by boundary walls, gatepiers, gates, and railings. The boundary wall is made of painted, coped rubble, with octagonal gatepiers and caps at the central pedestrian entrances, along with decorative cast-iron gates and railings.
