Description
The gatepiers at the South Strip of the Riccarton Estate, part of Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, date back to the 17th century. They are made of sandstone and feature a distinctive vermiculated cyclopean rustication. Each pier has a cornice and stop-chamfered reveals. The right pier includes gate-hinges. A modern wall has been constructed between the two gatepiers.
