Description
The Smiddy and SSEB Substation, located at 204 Lanark Road West in Currie, is an early to mid 19th century building. It is a single-storey structure made of whitewashed rubble, featuring a two-light window and a door on the right side. The building has a modern tiled roof and a straight-skewed gable with a brick chimney. At the west end, there is a harled addition that serves as the SSEB substation, which also has a straight-skewed gable and a slated roof. At the rear, there is a semi-circular outshot with a piend-roofed addition covered in pantiles. The building is flanked by canted dormers.
