Description
The School House at 3 Kirkgate in Currie was designed by David Bryce and built between 1830 and 1831. It is a two-storey building in an L-shaped plan, featuring a semi-elliptically arched porch that is illuminated by three small arched windows on the side of the re-entrant gable. The exterior is constructed with stugged coursers, and it has crowstepped gables and dormer head gablets. The building also has paired diagonal shafted chimneys and a slated roof. Inside, some of the woodwork dates back to the previous school and schoolhouse.
