GV II

Electricity sub station. Early C20. Rock-faced sandstone with ashlar dressings: chamfered parapet masks roof. EXTERIOR: 2 low storeys; 6-bay front. Tall boarded double doors towards left end. Other openings are windows, either pivoting or top-hung, double transomed on ground floor, of 3 panes on upper floor. All openings are chamfered, with 4-centred heads on ground floor, square-headed on upper floor. 5-bay river front repeats street front without double doors. INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value with Lendal Bridge (qv) and associated City Wall (qv).
