Description
209 Lanark Road West in Currie is a schoolhouse originally built in 1699 by John Grinton and Robert Telford, who were wrights and masons. The building is single-storey facing the road but rises to two storeys on the south side. It features a two-window and centre door layout on the west and a two-window school on the east. The structure is largely intact, constructed from rubble with partially droved dressings. It has very small windows and broad skews with end stacks, although the roof is now covered with modern French tiles and harled over.
