Description
151 Irish Street in Dumfries is a building designed by W F Crombie as his home and office, dating from the later 19th century. It incorporates an 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay house on the west side. The building was remodeled around 1980, which included an outbuilding to the south, although this outbuilding is not included in the listing. The structure is L-shaped, featuring a narrow two-bay elevation that is set back from the street. The elevation has a painted ashlar aedicular doorpiece on the left and a bipartite window. The original house has end stacks and rooflights above what was once the architect's studio. The roofs are slated. Additionally, there are single square channelled red ashlar gatepiers with pedimented caps.
