Description

Mid 18th century with substantial 19th century alterations.

Long range set back from road, now a hotel. Suggested

building sequence: originally 2 adjoining single storey

over basement 5-bay houses, each with steps to central

door; square pavilions at N and at S angles, S pavilion now

removed, N pavilion now in different ownership (part of

133, 135 Irish Street). Original buildings mainly brick

with moulded base course and chamfered ashlar margins; some

rendering; all painted. House nearest S much altered,

raised a storey, now 3 bays with projecting ground floor

bay. Central door and door enclosing forestair on S gable

both round-headed and pedimented, with large, richly

sculptured consoles. Main cornice continued at right over pyramidal-roofed pavilion. End stacks; slated roofs. Rear

(W) elevation also altered.
