Description
9-11 Castle Street in Kirkcudbright is a terraced house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, featuring a later shop. The building is two stories high with an attic and has two bays. It is finished in pebble dash over brick, with brick in the pend and a rendered rear. The late 19th century shop front includes end pilasters topped with bracketed terminal blocks and small urns, along with a fascia and cornice. There is a door to the north at number 11, located under the shop fascia. The shop has a recessed door with splayed side windows and panelled stall risers. On the first floor, there are two 4-pane sash windows, and the building features two small wallhead gabled dormers. The roof is covered with slate.
