Description
Mccheynston is a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse, likely built in the early to mid-19th century. It features a lower two-storey rear wing that forms an L-shape. The exterior is constructed with stugged red coursers and polished dressings. On the east elevation, there is a central round-arched entrance that includes a deeply recessed panelled door topped with a round-arched fanlight. The windows are 12-pane sashes. Additional architectural details include a cornice, a blocking course, straight skews, and corniced end stacks, all beneath a graded slate roof. A rear porch is located in the re-entrant angle of the building.
