Description

West Cottage is an earlier 19th century cottage, one of two adjoining single-story, three-bay cottages. The cottages share a central doorway with a hood-moulded archway above. The walls are constructed of rubble stone, primarily whinstone, with dressed details in stugged red ashlar, including painted margins and gables. The doors are partly-glazed and boarded, and the windows are casement style with wooden mullions. The westernmost cottage retains latticed glazing in its windows. The roof is slate-covered, with straight skews and end chimneys.
