Description
Auldgirth Inn is a two-storey inn built around 1800, featuring a rectangular plan. The exterior is made of painted rubble with contrasting margins. It has four wide bays, each with pointed windows that have simple Y-tracery. The entrance is off-centre, consisting of a square-headed door with a rectangular fanlight above it. A large, square central ridge stack made of brick sits on a rendered base, which is also painted, and has cross-shaped recesses on each side. There are end stacks as well. The roof is piended and covered with graded slates. To the south, there is a single bay modern addition that also features pointed windows and is rendered to resemble rubble. Additionally, there is a modern low extension to the north.
