Description
The lodge and gatepiers probably date from the late 18th century. It is a two-storey lodge, constructed with a harled (roughcast) exterior, raised brick quoins, and window dressings that use long and short bricks for decorative effect; the entire building is whitewashed. The east-facing elevation has three bays, featuring a central door recessed within a gabled, open porch. A blind oculus (circular window) sits above the porch. Venetian windows have been inserted into either flank. The roof is slate, with a single, large brick stack at the apex. A lower addition extends to the rear. Two square gatepiers are built from polished ashlar stone and have projecting caps.
