Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, L-plan traditional farmhouse with pilastered doorcase. Coursed, roughly squared and snecked rubble with contrasting stugged ashlar quoins and raised margins. Base and eaves courses.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Deep-set, studded timber door with plate glass fanlight to centre, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration close to eaves at 1st floor.

E ELEVATION: gabled bay to left with window to each floor at right, further window in slightly recessed single storey bay to outer right.

W ELEVATION: gabled bay to right of centre with window to left at each floor, slightly lower bay to left with 2 windows to each floor.

N ELEVATION: gabled bay to right of centre, window to right at ground and 2 windows above on return to right; recessed face to left with window to right at 1st floor and lean-to single storey bay with door to right and 2 windows to left.

Plate glass glazing in modern timber windows. Graded grey slates. Ashlar-coped skews; cavetto-coped ashlar stacks with some cans and thackstanes.

INTERIOR: some decorative cornicing, panelled shutters and dadoes. Marble fireplace to SE sitting room.
