Description
Raith Tower is an early 19th-century lookout tower situated on Comrie Hill within the Raith Estate. The tower is square in plan and three stories high, featuring an internal staircase, a crenellated parapet, and round angle turrets. It is constructed of harled brick. The ground floor is vaulted with pointed arches and contains a turnpike staircase. The tower was used as a private museum until the 1970s and is now derelict. Historical finds on Comrie Hill, including several stone coffins, urns, and human bones, suggest the hill may have once been a military station.
