49 Ellen's Glen Road, Edinburgh

This building, located at 49 Ellen's Glen Road in Edinburgh, is a later 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse. It features harled rubble walls with painted ashlar margins and has 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is finished with ashlar coped skews, a stone ridge, corniced stacks, and graded grey slates. There is a canted dormer and two large rooflights at the rear.

On the south elevation, there is a later 19th-century panelled door with an integral glazed panel at the top, flanked by two windows on the ground floor. The first floor has three windows. The north elevation has a modern glass door that is off-centre, with a window to the left and a large modern patio door to the outer left. The first floor features three windows, with a piended canted dormer to the attic on the right and a large modern rooflight to the left.

There is a modern addition to the east gable at ground floor level, with a window to the attic above. The interior has been largely altered. The boundary walls consist of rubble garden walls at the front and rear, topped with ashlar coping along the road.
