Description
3 Minto Street is an early 19th-century, two-storey classical house with a symmetrical three-bay design and single-storey wings on either side. The house is constructed of cream sandstone polished ashlar, featuring a base course, cill course, and architraves around the first-floor windows. It has a cornice and a balustraded parapet, along with giant order pilaster quoins.
The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central bay that is slightly advanced. It features an arched doorway with a panelled door, a plate glass fanlight, and flanking pilasters. The doorcase is corniced and supported by Doric columns, with a balustraded parapet that forms a balcony above a single window on the first floor. There are tripartite windows set in arched panels at the ground level on the outer left and right, with single windows above on the first floor. The single-storey wings to the north and south incorporate pedestrian gates and have a single window with a balustraded parapet.
The house has four-pane timber sash and case windows and a grey slate piended roof. The boundary is marked by a low coped wall along the street, with replacement railings. The interior was not seen in 1995.
