2 Minto Street, Edinburgh

2 Minto Street in Edinburgh is an early 19th-century classical house with later 19th-century additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure featuring a single-storey wing that has an additional later storey to the south. The building has a base course, a dividing band course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course.

On the west (entrance) elevation, there is a doorway on the outer left with a panelled door and a plate glass fanlight, framed by Doric columns and a corniced doorpiece. Above this doorway, there is a single window. To the outer right on the ground floor, there is a four-light, painted, canted window. The parapet features stylised anthemion cast-iron railings. The remaining bays and the two-storey wing have single windows.

The windows are made of plate glass and timber, with sash and case designs; the two-storey wing has four-pane windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended shape, with a coped mutual stack to the north and a coped, rendered wallhead stack to the south, both featuring moulded cans.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property has a low, coped boundary wall along the street and higher rubble mutual walls, along with replacement railings.
