126-128 George Street, Edinburgh

126-128 George Street in Edinburgh is a former pair of classical houses built around 1785, now mostly converted into shops on the ground floor. The building is three stories tall with an attic and features six bays. It is constructed from droved cream sandstone ashlar, which has been cleaned, with polished dressings. The two eastern bays have modern channelled ashlar at the ground level and a broad depressed arch doorway, while modern shop fronts project to the right.

The first-floor windows are adorned with architraves, friezes, and cornices, while the second-floor windows are also architraved. There is an eaves cornice and a later mansard roof that includes dormers for each bay. The windows are timber sash and case with 12 panes. The building has ashlar coped skews and is covered with grey slates. The interior has been altered to accommodate modern offices and shops.
