Description
This building at 194 Rose Street in Edinburgh dates from around 1790 and has undergone later alterations. It is a three-storey and attic, five-bay tenement that features two shops on the ground floor, which flank the entrance to a common stair. The exterior is constructed of coursed rubble, with the shop on the left framed by pilasters and a cornice. The building also has a pair of piend-roofed dormers.
At the rear, there is a four-storey, four-bay elevation made of rubble. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case, with plate glass in the centre. The building has rendered stacks and is topped with grey slates. The interior was not seen in 1995.
