39 Warrender Park Terrace, 38, Edinburgh

39 Warrender Park Terrace is a five-storey, four-bay tenement building, likely designed by Thomas P. Marwick in 1880. It features baronial details and is part of a terrace. The building is constructed of squared and snecked pink sandstone, accented with polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course, string courses above the first and second floors, and a corbel table at the fourth floor that steps down to the third floor. The doorways are round-arched with rope hoodmoulds and label-stops, and there are panelled doors with plate glass fanlights and chamfered reveals.

On the north entrance elevation, the doorways are located in the second and fourth bays, with single windows flanking them on either side. Above, there are bipartite windows, and the fourth floor features semi-circular pedimented dormerheads for the single windows. The first and third bays have full-height canted windows that are corbelled to square at the crowstepped gableheads. The building includes cill and lintel courses, dividing cornices at the third floor, and blank panels set in the gableheads. The windows are plate glass sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and features corniced mutual stacks, stone finials, and beak skewputts. The interiors were not seen in 1991. There is boundary coping and replacement fencing along the street.
