Description

George Wilson, 1880. 5-storey, 4-bay tenement, symmetrical above ground, with Scottish 17th century style details, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked sandstone with contrasting polished ashlar dressings. Base course; cill course at 1st and 3rd floors; corbel table at 4th floor; raised window surrounds; chamfered reveals; Gibbs style doorways; panelled doors; border-glazed fanlights; moulded aprons to 1st floor single windows; shaped cill details and swan-necked pediments to 4th floor single windows.

N ENTRANCE elevation: 2 pedimented doorways in 2nd bay; single windows aobve. Doorway flanked to left by single window in 3rd bay; single windows above. Full-height canted windows in bays to outer left and right, swept to square at 4th floor; tripartite windows to 4th floor; shaped Dutch style gables with oculi above. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced and coped central mutual stack; coped mutual stacks; some original rainwater goods, including hopper. INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
