43 Mansionhouse Road, The Grange, Edinburgh

This building, located at 43 Mansionhouse Road in The Grange, Edinburgh, dates from around 1850 and is a two-storey, three-bay villa with a symmetrical rectangular plan. It is constructed from sandstone rubble, featuring snecked stugged ashlar of varying colours, droved surrounds, and polished door dressings on the west side. The villa has projecting eaves with exposed rafters.

The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, features a central panelled door with a plate glass fanlight above it, a raised doorpiece, and carved consoles that support the cornice. The windows are arranged regularly on both the ground and first floors.

On the north elevation, there is a slit window at the first floor. The building has four-pane sash and case windows and a grey slate M-gabled roof.

The interior was not seen in 1990. Additionally, there is a low ashlar coped boundary wall along the street, which is now topped with a timber fence, and a detached garage to the north.
