Description
The sundial in the walled garden of Newliston House dates back to the early 18th century. It has a lectern-shaped design with multiple facets and is located in the southern part of the garden. The sundial is mounted on a replacement stone cylindrical shaft and base made from two circular mill stones. The dials are carved into various hollows and feature a star-shaped face at the top, resembling a lectern. It includes two gnomons made from the noses of masks and one lead gnomon.
