Description

The walled garden and sundial at Dunvegan Castle, likely from the 17th century, features an ashlar lectern type sundial with gnomons on the east, west, and south facets. The sundial is positioned on a low rectangular stone pedestal with slightly rounded sides and a simple corniced cap that has faintly incised linear decoration. It is located in the center of a large square walled garden, which is enclosed by rubble walling topped with stone coping.
