Description
The Cottage in Dunvegan, Skye, dates from the mid-19th century, possibly incorporating an earlier core. It is a two-storey building with an asymmetrical L-shaped plan, featuring a west front with three bays and a long, irregular four-bay wing at the rear. The exterior is harled, and there is a gabled porch at the re-entrant doorway. To the left, a projecting gabled wing has a window on the first floor with a hoodmould. The ground floor includes canopied three-light windows, and some of the frontage has lattice pane glazing, while the rear has four-pane glazing. The building has end and ridge stacks, and the slate roof has projecting eaves.
