Description
Smoo Lodge is an earlier 19th century building, likely with an earlier core. It is a two-storey structure with an irregular six-bay facade facing east and a parallel extension at the rear. The exterior is harled with contrasting painted margins. The second, third, and fourth bays are symmetrically grouped, with the entrance located in the central bay, which is now obscured by a late 19th century projecting gabled porch. A two-bay wing extends to full height at the north gable. The ground floor features one bipartite window, and there are four piended dormers. The rear includes a piended wing with a late 19th century canted bay window in the south gable and a canted dormer. The windows have 2-, 4-, and 12-pane glazing, and the building features crowstepped gables, end and ridge stacks, and slate roofs.
The gatepiers consist of a pair of square tooled ashlar gatepiers with plain square caps, accompanied by coped drystone walls.
