2 Blacket Place, Edinburgh

2 Blacket Place is an earlier 19th-century single-storey house with a symmetrical rectangular plan, designed in a plain classical style. It features recessed wings to the east and west and is constructed from polished sandstone ashlar. The building includes a base course, an eaves course, a cornice, and a painted blocking course.

The south entrance elevation has an advanced central bay that contains a four-panelled timber door topped with a plate glass fanlight. The flanking bays feature single recessed windows, while the lower wings are set back on the outer left and right sides. The windows are four-pane timber sash and case, with two-pane windows in the wings. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes a glazed cupola, along with coped and rendered gablehead stacks and an octagonal corniced stack to the east at the rear.

The interior was not seen in 1996. The property is bordered by a low coped boundary wall along the street, which is connected to a rendered former carriage entrance on the east side.
