7- 8 Wester Close, Newhaven, Edinburgh

7-8 Wester Close is a mid to later 18th century, two-storey, four-bay building that forms the end of a terrace in a vernacular style. It has a rectangular plan and a symmetrical arrangement. The exterior is harled and limewashed, featuring raised and painted concrete surrounds around the openings. An exterior stair with timber railings leads to the first floor. The entries have two-leaf boarded timber doors.

On the entrance elevation, there are two timber doors on the ground floor located in the central bay, which is set within a stair recess for No 7. There is also a storage door facing north beneath the stair. The stairs lead to the first floor entry for No 8, which is aligned above. Each outer bay on both floors has a single window.

The main street elevation is two-storey and three-bay, with a gable end facing the street as part of the terrace. It has a regular arrangement of windows on both floors in the centre and outer left bays, while the right bay is blind.

On the Lamb's Court elevation, there is regular fenestration on all floors. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is machine-made with red pantiles and a grey slate easing course, featuring raised skews. There are harled apex stacks to the north and south, topped with precast concrete copes and circular cans.
