3 Wester Close, Edinburgh

3 Wester Close is a mid to later 18th century building that was recast and converted by Ian Lindsay & Partners around 1970. It is a 2-storey, 3-bay asymmetrical vernacular-style block that forms the end of a terrace. The exterior is harled and limewashed, featuring raised and painted concrete surrounds to the openings. There is an exterior stair with timber railings leading to the first-floor entry.

On the west elevation, the stairs to the first-floor entrance are located in the outer right bay, leading to a timber boarded door. There is a single window in the re-entrant angle to the right, which is part of the rear property at 2 Pier Place. The outer left bay has single windows on both floors, and there is a single window facing south in the central projection on the ground floor.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is machine-made red pantiled with a grey slate easing course and raised skews. There are harled apex stacks to the east and west, both topped with precast concrete copes and circular cans.
