Description

31-35 North Street in Bo'Ness is a mid to late 19th century, two-storey and attic building featuring a five-bay design, with three bays grouped together and two separate bays. This short terrace consists of three houses with shops on the ground floor. The building is constructed of ashlar, which is painted at No 35 on the ground floor, stugged stone on the first floor, and squared rubble. It has a part base course, as well as band and eaves courses, with raised margins on the first floor.

On the southeast elevation, there are three altered bays on the ground floor to the left, featuring a broad central door flanked by display windows beneath a plain fascia. To the right, there is a deep-set timber door with a deep plate glass fanlight, and another display window beyond it, also with a timber door and deep plate glass fanlight, both situated below the fascia. The first floor has five windows and a canted bipartite dormer window in the center, with an additional canted dormer to the right.

The northwest elevation, facing Waggon Road, is asymmetrically fenestrated and includes a variety of window elements, such as a single dormer window on the left and a broad dormer window on the right.

The northeast elevation is plain, featuring an angled and gabled design with a satellite dish on the right. The windows at No 35 have a plate glass glazing pattern in timber sash and case, while uPVC glazing is used elsewhere. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks and ashlar-coped skews.

The boundary walls are flat-coped, with a pedestrian door to the left and a larger door to the right on the northwest side.
