Warehouse, 27 Waggon Road, Bo'Ness

This building is a warehouse located at 27 Waggon Road in Bo'ness, dating from the mid to later 19th century. It was restored in 1978 by Falkirk District Council. The structure is a three-storey, three-bay Italianate tenement with a piend-and-platform roof and a shop at the ground level, situated within an irregular terrace. The ground floor is finished in painted ashlar, while the northern elevation features squared rubble with raised ashlar margins. Notable architectural details include a deep base course, a cornice at the ground floor, a cill course on the second floor, a deep eaves course, and a bracketed cornice. The second-floor windows on the southern side have bracketed cills and lugged heads.

On the south elevation, facing North Street, there is a two-leaf panelled timber door to the left of a five-bay ground floor. This door is flanked by pilasters with fluted panels and rosettes in the frieze, which rise into architraved door and window heads that continue around the corner to the left, where there is a single window on the return. Each floor above has three windows, with additional windows on each floor of the left return.

The north elevation, facing Waggon Road, features a corniced and pilastered doorpiece with a part-glazed timber door and a deep plate glass fanlight in the bay to the right of centre at ground level. There is a full-height canted bay to the left and regular fenestration in the remaining bays. The windows are timber sash and case, with a pattern of four-pane upper sashes over two-pane lower sashes, and plate glass glazing, except for the second floor on the left and the left return on the south side. The roof is covered with grey slates.
