3 Upper Gray Street, Edinburgh

3 Upper Gray Street in Edinburgh is a classical house built in 1812. It is a single-storey structure with three symmetrical bays and a single-storey wing to the north. The house is constructed from lightly stugged, painted sandstone ashlar, with rubble on the sides and rear. It features a base course, cornice, and a blocking course.

The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central doorway with a panelled door and a plate glass fanlight above. The doorpiece is bracketed and corniced, breaking the eaves. There are single windows in the outer left and right bays, and a panelled door leads to the single-storey wing.

The windows are 4-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, featuring three-light canted dormers. There are tall, coped ridge stacks and wallhead stacks with moulded octagonal cans.

The boundary walls consist of a low coped rubble wall along the street.
